Cheltenham Gold Cup Market Movers

December 28th
Galopin Des Champs was back to his very best in the Savills Chase and has been slashed into 6/4 from 11/4 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup with BoyleSports. On the back of two defeats following Gold Cup glory in March, he blew away the opposition at Leopardstown and could be called the winner a long way from home.

Gerri Colombe stayed on into second place under Jack Kennedy after hitting his customary flat spot but was ultimately beaten by 23 lengths. He has now drifted to 8/1 for the Gold Cup.

Champion Hurdle Market Movers

December 29th
State Man has been cut into 4/1 from 5/1 for the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival with BoyleSports. Willie Mullins fielded the first three home in today’s feature at Leopardstown, the Matheson Hurdle, as State Man led home stablemate Impaire Et Passe by 3¼L. Taking it up at the home bend, he quickly swept clear from the rest of the field as Impaire Et Passe stayed on into second after a poor jump at the second last.

Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase Market Movers

Grangeclare West fulfilled his early career potential in style, bolting up in the first Grade 1 on the card at Leopardstown by six lengths from Corbetts Cross, with two-time Stayers’ Hurdle winner Flooring Porter in third. Grangeclare West has been slashed into 5/1 co-favourite from 14/1 with BoyleSports for Cheltenham’s Brown Advisory.

Fact To File got off the mark at the second time of asking over fences, winning the beginners’ chase in some style under Mark Walsh. Last year’s Champion Bumper 2nd at the Cheltenham Festival bypassed a season over hurdles and is now prominent in the market for a number of races at Cheltenham in March. The gelding is 10/1 from 16/1 for the National Hunt Chase, 10/1 from 20/1 for the Turners Novices’ Chase and 7/1 from 12/1 for the Brown Advisory.

Turners Novices’ Chase Market Movers

On the Limerick card, Gaelic Warrior justified short-priced favouritism by sauntering to victory in the Grade 1 Faugheen Chase, with stablemate Il Etait Temps, back in second.
Stacking them up before turning for home, Patrick Mullins eased Gaelic Warrior clear in the home straight and he was another impressive winner on the day. He has a number of options at the Cheltenham Festival and is EVS from 2/1 for the Turners Chase, 5/1 from 7/1 for the Brown Advisory and 6/1 from 10/1 for the Arkle.

Maughreen was a big market mover after her performance in a bumper race at Punchestown.

Readin Tommy Wrong saw his odds slashed in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle betting after a tremendous display at Naas in Grade 1 company.

Marine Nationale was the star of the show at Leopardstown today and has been cut to Even-money favourite from 7/4 for the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham. Running away with today’s beginners’ chase on the Leopardstown card, he cemented his status as the early Irish banker at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.
