Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase Preview

David Casey: “The trip doesn’t matter to Fact To File. I think this race is stronger than the Turners, but other horses will switch races to avoid him. At the moment I think the Turners is half an egg and spoon race. Fact To File is a hell of a horse. He jumps, he gallops, he’s a big horse so ground won’t be an issue. He could be the next Galopin Des Champs already. Paul Townend asked me if it would be completely mad to run Facile Vega here? I said no, we’ve done plenty of mad things in the past.”

Robbie Power: “Jumping was always going to be Monty’s Star’s forte, he was always going to make a better chaser and comes here fresh which Henry loves to do. He’ll run well but Fact To File has blown me away. His jumping is a joy to watch and if he runs here he’ll take all the beating and maybe Monty’s Star will be second to him.”

Tony Keenan: “Fact To File hasn’t won races, he’s won time trials. He has one massive positive in that Willie went straight over fences with him. I’m not sure he’s in love with the track, he hung up the straight last year and the form of the Champion Bumper isn’t great, not one of them are figuring in the top 10 of this season’s novice hurdlers. The two English horses have very solid form, and Grey Dawning on soft ground is the one I’d be backing. I’d take the two English horses against the Irish horses.”
