CHELTENHAM

Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race)

While no horse has won both the Gold Cup and Grand National since the 1970s, plenty have at least placed in both races- Anibale Fly, Santini and Mon Mome are examples from the last 15 years.

RACING POST VERDICT
6 GALOPIN DES CHAMPS FR
J: P Townend | T: W MullinsSP
Form: 1F1-11
Top of the list is GALOPIN DES CHAMPS (nap), who won in good style over C&D last month and backed that up with a strong-finishing third behind a resurgent rival here 13 days ago. He had three of today's rivals behind him last time and is a key player on this drop back in grade. The in-form 5yo Resilience is feared most, although Mokaatil could make a bold bid back in trip and Birkenhead is well handicapped if he can rediscover his spark.[David Moon]
